SteveGodin Cool mix of styles, killer production, solid songwriting.
Chewy

Chewy Their growling guitar and smooth spacey vox are a staple, yet here they don't tire out the sound but stretch and toy with it. My fav so far is High Again, which seems to be a spiritual sequel to Stoned, Alone. After finding even love to be no panacea but a temporary high to forever chase, their focus pivots to fighting the existential dread this revelation brings. Favorite track: High Again.

jakdzikimis This album brings back melody to music. Beautiful compositions. Yellowbelly is like a tribute to Robert Smith's writing style. Love it so much. Favorite track: Yellowbelly.

Won’t you help me drown? Everything is sentimental I’ve got a crooked frown And a brand of isolation It’s something evil But it’s nothing to freak you out We all still feel the same And we live in sleep for days We love the things we know will leave the taste of gasoline I guess we’re born to die I could meet you in the middle I need a quick stop God and a brand new medication It’s nothing simple But we don’t need to drag it out We all still feel the same And we live in sleep for days We love the things we know will leave the taste of gasoline

New Emotion 03:26
I stand on shaking earth The surface, it looks calm But something’s wrong I swear I’m giving all I got But I’m not so young I’m too far gone Safe and sound in the typical disgust I try to force it out, I can’t wait til it comes Pathetic as it sounds I’m still chasing a feeling, a feeling that I’ve never found It’s a new emotion The lies are coming out All these words have no meaning No meaning, they’re nothing but sound I want a new emotion My pride Is a face I wear, but I don’t recognize And I don’t mind My shame In my grip so tight, I’ll die before I give it away No fucking way Safe and sound in the typical disgust I try to force it out, I can’t wait til it comes Pathetic as it sounds I’m still chasing a feeling, a feeling that I’ve never found It’s a new emotion The lies are coming out All these words have no meaning No meaning, they’re nothing but sound I want a new emotion It’s all one love

Yellowbelly 03:14
Yellow bellied love Turn me over and over again Cemetery guard Doesn’t see it but he’s already dead Dancing around the corpse’s ashes Trying to keep the time from passing Nothing that he can do about it now Say what you want, I won’t be angry I’ve had enough of second guessing It’s gonna rot and turn to dust locked up inside Yellow bellied love Slip away at the side of the bed Couldn’t hold your eyes But if time is a circle then I’ll see you again Dancing around the corpse’s ashes Trying to keep the time from passing Nothing that I can do about it now Say what you want, I won’t be angry I’ve had enough of second guessing It’s gonna rot and turn to dust locked up inside
5.
Silverspoon 03:42
Antacid with the silver spoon The speak of needles through a loom The eye is quick But your body’s sick Apologies, I’ve come too soon I am burrowing inside you I am safe inside Your daddy’s rich And grey as stone A season shy of a broken home I’d hold you tighter My hands are tied You’re always hurt and you don’t know why Will you come back when all this is over? When the sickness has tattooed your shoulders And you just don’t wanna feel Like you’ve wasted all this life Will you come back when all this is over?
6.
Wear U Down 02:55
Stomp me out I’m burning red but now I’m done It’s a symptom of growing up I can’t help but feel that we’re all fucked So take me out Show me all there is to show I wanna like it, but I don’t I’ve come to hate the things I love the most There’s a star on my chest where my heart should be But it hurts so much less when you’re next to me I’ll wear you down, down, down Stomp me out Before I burn another hole Show me where all of the good souls go
7.
High Again 03:26
Can we just lie in bed and watch the sun come out? Oh, no Oh, no I fill my head with sweet sugar jam And pillow talk pollution Riddles with solutions I can find Sometimes it’s okay to starve But don’t follow too far The things that make you useless over time What’s in your head? Are you nervous? Does purpose seem elusive? Are you counting all your blessings when you rise? Well my youth is a distant glow And the flash of love comes and goes But the fear infects the future from inside And I said Can we just lie in bed and watch the sun come out? Oh, no Oh, no Can we get high again without just breaking down? Oh, no Oh, no Can’t get high again I put that on you
8.
Wasting Time 03:40
Call me up Coming hard I can’t shake you off I can fake it if you want Superstar Give me all I can take, my love You are naked in my mind I’m a shadow stretching out Under you, over me If it’s all the same We’re wasting time in the moment You’re just wasting time waiting for me I will lie, I will lie Don’t believe it I will lie, I will lie Just to be there Party girl funeral Is your safety off? We could make forever now Tangerine angel wings A word that fills my lungs I won’t let it slip my tongue It’s a tired, stupid song Under you, over me If it’s all the same We’re wasting time in the moment You’re just wasting time waiting for me I will lie, I will lie Don’t believe it I will lie, I will lie Just to be there In my mind It’s a tired, stupid song Under you, over me If it’s all the same We’re wasting time in the moment You’re just wasting time waiting for me I will lie, I will lie Don’t believe it I will lie, I will lie Just to be there

I’m just a product of the afterglow The flower of the seed The story you believe Rolling with the undertow Sucking on my teeth Waiting for my turn to speak I feel light and I feel free But I’m getting sick on the inside We are made to feel ashamed Not every chemical is mixed right It’s just a sign of the times Where do we go when the river runs dry? It never entered your mind Where do we go when the river runs dry? We’re headed for the ocean floor There’s oil underneath Holy are the machines We’re terrified and growing bored Uncertainty is weak We need to know that you agree We feel light and we feel free But we’re getting sick on the inside Open mouths that never feed Black out the sky for the bottom line It’s just a sign of the times Where do we go when the river runs dry? It never entered your mind Where do we go when the river runs dry? Razor wire ‘round the room In the frame we stay in bloom Nothing left that we can do Zero Day is coming soon No more shadows, no more clouds No more fear of failing now Nothing left that we can do Zero Day is coming soon

Stella 04:40
Goodnight, she said Stella, refrain ‘Cause I’m running out of breath to hold We melt away Shadows in shade Surrendering the life we know This is everything Hold onto me I’ll never feel this way again, no I’ll never feel the same again, no And down again We will descend To the haunted places no one knows Be still, the time We don’t decide When moments fade and silence grows This is everything Hold onto me I’ll never feel this way again, no I’ll never feel the same again, no
